Technology/Market Information
Succinct product line description:
Resource Discovery in Pervasive Environments: The Search For Real Time Information; Finding Up-To-Date Data When You Need It. Providing a network allowing businesses (and individuals) to both publish and search for real-time information in circumstances or environments where it is important to do so; e.g. concerning business sectors that have perishable products, high price volatility or markets that have other factors generating ever-present but unpredictable change.

Agent Technology provides an intelligent software agent based network that has the ability to revolutionize supply chains involving small & independent businesses. It is a highly scalable disruptive technology. It offers a low-cost product that satisfies price sensitive customers in the first instance. Being a secure peer to peer network, it can grow organically and even scale up to solve a domestic or international trade requirement. The product allows small companies that sell to or buy from large organizations to inexpensively implement supply chain communication.

The Opportunity:
The information on the Internet is very dynamic: quite often search engines refer to information that has moved to another, unknown location, or has disappeared, or is totally out of date. Search engines do not learn from these searches, and they do not adjust themselves to their users.

Moreover, with standard search engines a user cannot receive information updates upon one or more topics or products, i.e. perform certain searches automatically at regular intervals.

A person searching often doesn't truly know if information delivered in a search engine (like Google) is a day old, a week old or three months old. The problem is likely to continue as the amount of data expands on the Internet.

Searching information this way, using traditional search engines, becomes a very time-consuming activity.

Our approach offers a guaranteed way for people to search for and receive real-time information.

Approx 95% of all stores in North America are single owner stores - Deloitte 2002. A sample group of independent stores, Independent Grocers Association (IGA), has aggregate global sales of approx $20 billion annually. Our product reduces costs and error rates in supply chain communication between producers, retailers and wholesalers. Initial clients and early adopters: independent wholesalers and retailers in Australia that collectively have an annual turnover of approximately $500 million AUD. This includes over 1000 small & micro retailers, many of which process orders manually. (Note: A.T. Kearney states 3.5% of total sales are lost each year in the U.S. grocery industry due to supply chain information inefficiencies.)
